Integrate Goes Virtual with Telehealth
We're still here for you.
A few weeks ago I had to close Integrate NYC Physical Therapy's office in an effort to keep our clients and ourselves healthy and safe in light of the coronavirus outbreak. This left many of our clients in limbo as some were undergoing a course of treatment for an injury or post-surgical rehab or perhaps those who depend upon us for management of pain and function. However, we are still here for you with a telemedicine option.
Telehealth allows us to pick up where we left off.
Thanks to video capability of our devices, we can still work together to meet your needs during this time when we need movement the most. While we currently cannot treat manually, there is a lot we can accomplish. It is possible to still visually evaluate structure and movement. Current exercise plans can be edited and progressed. Your questions can be answered. Your concerns can be heard.
Telehealth allows us to dive deeper into holistic health.
If you are a client that has not worked with the Integrate in a while, I can virtually re-evaluate you and develop a personalized home exercise plan that can be visually and verbally taught and progressed. For both our existing clients and new comers, we can take this opportunity to step back and take a look at your overall health, which I can address in a holistic manner analyzing what I consider the pillars of health: diet, hydration, sleep, exercise, stress level, emotional state. I have discussed these topics with many of our clients in the past. With this video chat option, I now have the time to dive deeper into any of these areas that you might be interested in knowing more about. If you are unsure in which area you might need support, we can determine this through a series of questions and general discussion.
Follow up is key.
I will be able to reinforce our virtual sessions by emailing you notes on our discussion as well as sending written and video instructions on topics such as: exercise, breathing exercises, meditation, qigong, nutrition, stress management, and sleep quality. I have a number of great resources I am happy to share.
How it works
I am currently offering 30 or 60 minute sessions. We will be using a HIIPA-compliant secure telemedicine service that is user-friendly and does not require you to download anything. This can be done from your smartphone, computer, or tablet.
Payment
The rules and regulations regarding insurance reimbursement for physical therapy services rendered remotely via audio or video are rapidly changing because of the current situation. According to the most recent information, Medicare does not cover this service. Each private health insurance company appears to have a different policy, but I have confirmed that some of them cover Telehealth. If you are interested in the potential of using your out-of-network physical therapy benefits let me know and we can discuss further. We also have an out of pocket option.
There’s no better time than now.
The situations we are now facing are difficult for all of us. For those who know me well, I’ll always find a silver lining and within the stress and sadness, there is potential for positive change within us and around us, and we need to begin with and focus on our health and the health of those and everything around us to get us through.
